Funny man and television presenter, most famously known recently for fronting the quiz show, Pointless, is due to adventure into a territory that most people will not be familiar that he has a history with, music. Alexander Armstrong is set to release his debut album in November this year. A Year of Songs is filled with a variation of songs from both Britain and Ireland including songs such as Londonderry Air, Stranger In Paradise and Hushabye Mountain.
Back in his school years, Armstrong sang as a baritone in the college choir and wanted to return to his musical routes by releasing an album. Alex has played a big part in the comedy circuit and television for years, he has appeared in four series of Armstrong and Miller, was the face of Pimms adverts, and has hosted a variety of television shows including Have I Got News For You, Prize Island, Alexander Armstrong’s Big Ask and Pointless.
Even though he has not sung much in the limelight, behind the scenes Armstrong has kept up his musical routes. Before forming a cover band around 2013, he was singing mainly at his local parish church services or at weddings. He has also appeared on Songs of Praise: The Big Sing and Your Face Sounds Familiar singing as well.
With such a big following and also with his many years of experience of musical talent, we predict that the debut album is going to sell well. He is also going on tour in 2016 as well to follow the album release.
