It was announced this week in the news that the British Music Industry contributed £4.1 billion to the UK economy in 2015 and half of that was due to the success of some artists over seas. The next couple of days we are going to look at a few of these artists who have been linked to this piece of news and how there career has excelled over seas. Today we are looking at Adele.

Adele has had a roller coaster of a ride to the top but once she got there she has sit the big time in a phemoninal way. In 2007 she won the Brit Awards ‘Critic’s Choice’ award and since then the only way has been up. Her debut album, 19, is seven times platinum in the UK and double platinum in the USA. She has received many awards in her career so far including six grammy awards in 2012. Her album 21, held the top position in the charts in the USA for longer then any album since 1985 and also went certified Diamond. She is the first woman in history in Billboard Hot 100 to have three simultaneous top ten singles as a lead artist. Her single Hello sold over one million copies within in the first week of its release and her albums have had over 100 million sales.
