In 2015, CBS ordered a series of Rush Hour, a television series that is based on the popular franchise that was created by Ross LaManna and starred Jackie Chan and Chris Rock. The television show, similar to the films, follows Detective Carter, a radical LAPD detective and Detective Lee a by the book detective from Hong Kong as they are forced into an unlikely partnership.
The show starred Justin Hires as Detective James Steven Carter and Jon Foo as Jonathan Lee, the show as filmed in San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, California. The show broadcasted on CBS in the USA in March 2016 and on E4 in the UK in April.
The show received mainly mixed to negative reviews with one of them stating that ‘Lackluster chemistry and uninspired plotting prevent Rush Hour from living up to its namesake.’ The show was cancelled after one season and was removed from the CBS schedule however they announced that it would return in July 2016 with the remaining episodes.
