If you are looking for something a bit different for this years Christmas, then you should check out the play The night Before Christmas which is being performed in The Bottle Shop in London.
The play, written by Anthony Neilson is about An elf on Christmas Eve breaking into Gary’s Warehouse and the results that become of that. Here is a synopsis of the show:
THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS BY ANTHONY NEILSON CHRISTMAS EVE. AN ELF BREAKS INTO GARY’S WAREHOUSE. WELL…HE SAYS HE’S AN ELF, THE LITTLE SHIT; A HOSTAGE TAKING SITUATION ENSUES. COME AND WATCH HIM TALK HIS WAY OUT OF THIS ONE. EXPERIENCE THIS HOUR-LONG ANTI-PANTO UNFOLD IN THE HEART OF BERMONDSEY. THERE’S FOOD. THERE’S BEER. THERE’S SHIT SECRET SANTA GIFTS, RUDE CHRISTMAS CARDS, MUSIC, AND OF COURSE, AN ELF. FUN FOR GROWN UPS AT THIS OTHERWISE (DELETE WHERE APPROPRIATE) HELLISH/TRYING/MISERABLE/FESTIVE TIME OF YEAR.
As you can tell by the synopsis this show is for adults only, it had a run in london last year and received successful reviews including this one from Melanie Hill From Coronation Street: “It was so fecking good it laddered my Christmas stockings – congrats to all involved – beautiful theatre in a beautiful venue”
