Its not unusual for a former boyband member to have a solo career after a band has broken up and today we look at the solo career that this male pursued after being in one of the United Kingdoms biggest boybands for many years – Abz
5ive was one of the biggest boybands at the turn of the century and in their career they have sold over 1.6 million albums and 2 million singles in the UK alone, so when the band broke up in 2001 the natural progression was for members to have a solo career and Abz was one of them that tried this direction.
Abz was signed to Sony BMG by Simon Cowell as a solo artist as soon as the band split and he was also the only member to pursue a solo career. He released a few singles into the chart including What You Got which peaked at number 4, Stop Sign which got to number 10 and Miss Perfect that got to Number 5.
Abz also released a solo album called Abstract Theory which was released in 2003 an was the genre of R&B and Electropop. The album only reached a mere 29 in the album charts meaning that Abz was dropped from the record label months later. So lets spend time this afternoon celebrating the short musical solo career of Abz.
